Message From the President
It is with great pleasure that I welcome everyone to Season 2016!
The new year sees some new faces ascend to the Committee and familiar faces return but all the same they are excited and committed to making the up and coming Season a successful, fulfilling and enjoyable one for its members.
Whilst administratively the Committee provides a wealth of experience across all facets of management from social to financial, there are always areas on which we can improve.
One area the Committee has identified as critical and is committed to improving on is fees and conditions with the SANFL. This has been an area overlooked by both sides for many years and must be addressed. You will be fully informed, consulted and addressed as we progress in this area. In the coming weeks I will arrange with the coaching staff to address umpires before or after training regarding this and a number of other issues that we are looking at raising with the SANFL. Transparency and open communication is the key to success!
Chris Cook has been very busy developing a very extensive Social Calendar that will provide us with many opportunities to get to know fellow members away from the training track and game day. I’m sure you will be impressed! This will be made available soon.
Your support to the Association is vital as we are here to support you and be your voice on any issues or concerns you may have. If everyone is on board, we are better able to achieve our goal, which is to look after the needs of all umpires.
Please feel free to contact me at anytime should you feel the need whether it is an Association related issue or a general umpiring issue. My email address is firstname.lastname@example.org
With Round 1 not too far away, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the best and every success for the up and coming Season and get from it what you put in.
