Cummins and Norton to Celebrate SANFL Milestones

Firstly, congratulations to Boundary Umpire Scott Hargreaves who made his League Debut in Round 2. Scott umpired what turned out to be game of the round on Thursday in the game between Norwood and Port at Norwood Oval. Well done Scott. Keep an eye on our social media platforms to see Scott presented with his Milestone certificate.

This week see’s two big milestones from our Goal Umpires. Our president Matthew Norton will officiate in his 100th League Match when he stands in the goals for the ANZAC Day clash between Sturt and the Eagles at Unley Oval. The ANZAC Day clash is always a great day on the football calendar and this years should be no exception. Matthew came to the SANFL in 2004 and continues to be a popular member amongst not only the Goal Umpiring group, but across all the disciplines. Enjoy the day Matthew and congratulations.

Also celebrating a milestone in Round 3 is SANFLUA Committee Member and Goal Umpire Matthew Cummins. Matthew will officiate in his 200th League Match, which is a great achievement and testament to his passion and dedication to umpiring. Joining the SANFL in 2006, Matthew has amassed an impressive resume in umpiring. Adding SANFL Life Membership to this is great reward for effort. Matthew will also officiate the ANZAC Day clash on Tuesday, giving that game a total of 300 games experience in the goals. Have a great day Matthew and well done.
