SANFLUA is pleased to announce the 2020 SANFL League Grand Finals. In what can only be described as a challenging year for our group (and the world as a whole), the season finally comes to a close this weekend when North Adelaide take on Woodville-West Torrens in the decider at Adelaide Oval on Sunday. This years group comprises of plenty of experience, with only one umpire making his first grand final appearance at League level.
All three Field Umpires charged with keeping the SANFL League Grand Final under control have all umpired League Grand Finals previously. Corey Bowen will officiate in his 5th League Grand Final. Mitchell Harris gets his hat trick and will Umpire his 3rd straight League Grand Final and after being Emergency Field Umpire for last years decider, Rowan Hundertmark will officiate in his 2nd League Grand Final. Tom Bryce is the Emergency Field Umpire.
Our Boundary Umpires for the day are full of experience. However, of the 4 appointed, Isaac Fishlock will officiate in his 1st SANFL League Grand Final. Running with Isaac will be Sam Royans, who will umpire his 6th League Grand Final, which takes his run of consecutive appearances to 5. Damian Robinson will notch up his 3rd Grand Final appearance and rounding out the Boundary Umpire team is Martin Elsegood, who will run his 2nd SANFL League Grand Final.
Keeping score on the day will be an experienced pair. Mat Wilson returns, after officiating in last years decider. Mat will officiate in his 3rd SANFL League Grand Final. He will be joined in the goals by Tom Sharpe, who will also officiate in his 3rd SANFL League Grand Final, having previously been involved in 2015 and 2017. Braden Ford, who was Emergency Goal Umpire in 2019, will again sit on the bench as Emergency Goal Umpire on Sunday.
In the Reserves Grand Final, to be played prior to the SANFL League Grand Final on Sunday, Field Umpires Josh Hardy, Harrison Hughes and Jack Millar will take charge. Alexander Reardon will be the Emergency Field Umpire. On the boundary, will be William Carter, Taylor Dorsey, Steven Evanson and Tom Kelly, whilst the Goal Umpires waving the flags will be Georgia Henderson and Tom Fahey, with Jared Murton keeping score on the bench as Emergency Goal Umpire.
The U18s Grand Final will be played on Saturday at Thebarton Oval. The Field Umpires appointed are Bailey Allen, Thomas W Kelly and Henry Klemm with Zachery Packard the Emergency Field Umpire.
