The SANFLUA held its 2019 and 2020 Annual General Meeting’s on Monday May 10th at The Astor Hotel and it was great to see a solid turn out from our Members and Life Members. In 2019, as reported in last year’s 2019 Annual Report, SANFLUA recorded a modest surplus of $913. With 2020 being a year of uncertainty due to the COVID-19 pandemic, SANLFUA made the decision to carry over 2019 Memberships to 2020 and not charge any membership fees. With Membership fees being our major source of income, this resulted in SANFLUA recording a deficit of $1,303.
Our AGM also saw 4 positions become available on the committee. The positions of President (Matt Cummins), Secretary (Andrew Crosby), Social Secretary (Terence Carter) and one general committee position (Mat Wilson) had all expired and needed to be filled. Matt Cummins was re-elected as President for a further 2 year term, Matthew Norton was elected unopposed as Secretary for a 2 year term, Dean Garrett joins the committee as Social Secretary on a 2 year term and Mathew Wilson was re-elected on to the committee for a further 2 year term.
SANFLUA would like to acknowledge the service of those committee members who have decided to stand down from their positions – Andrew Crosby (Secretary), Terence Carter (Social Secretary) and Tom Sharpe (Committee Member – Social Media). All three provided outstanding service to the association and their experience and knowledge will be missed. SANFLUA would like to particularly acknowledge the service of Andrew Crosby, who provided in excess of 10 years of service to the association, providing expertise on several topics and always being the voice of reason during our committee meetings. We wish all three the best for the next chapters of their umpiring lives.

Membership fees for 2021 were voted on and finalised at the AGM’s. A vote was carried that Membership fees remain as they were for 2019. This means, for 2021, Membership Fees are as follows:
Full Running/Non-Running Membership – $170
Academy Membership – $110
Associate/Trainer – $40
First Year Academy – $35
SANFLUA will start our membership drive and contact those that have registered an interest in becoming members, to finalise payments. Please encourage your fellow umpires to join your association. The stronger our membership numbers are, the stronger voice your association will have within the football landscape in South Australia.
