Become an Umpire
There are many reasons to become an umpire. Football is the largest sport in Australia, and umpiring is your opportunity to play your part while getting paid for it. Whether you want to run around at Community level for some extra cash, or aim to work your way to the AFL as a career, you will gain great enjoyment from contributing to our game.
WHO CAN BECOME AN UMPIRE?
All football fans are encouraged to become an umpire. Male, female, young or old; we will find a role for you at an appropriate level. Don’t make the mistake of thinking you’re “too young” or “too old”.
WHY SHOULD I BECOME AN UMPIRE?
You’ll get fit. You’ll get paid. You’ll have the best seat in the house. What’s better than that?
WHEN WOULD I UMPIRE?
Different leagues have different timeslots for matches, so your games all depend on where you start umpiring. We will do our best to accommodate you with a time that suits.
