Congratulations to our debutants at SANFLW debutants from the weekend. Mitch Sims breaks through, running in his first at The Parade, Ben Kernich in his first season at SANFL umpired the Sturt vs. North Saturday night match, whilst seasoned Boundary Umpire Joshua Thunig umpired his first down at Noarlunga. Congrats to all 3.
Mitch Scott brought up 250 SANFL matches in the South Centrals clash at Noarlunga on Saturday. Mitch began with SANFL in 2011, is closing in on 150 Mens League games, running most with Mitch Harris (28), and has totalled 116 different umpires during his League game career, debuting back in Round 17 2014. Mitch has run 143 times on a Saturday, as is only one of a few to umpire on every day of the week, except in League on a Wednesday.
Brad Hammer surpassed 200 SANFL matches on Saturday at Noarlunga, 36 of them back at his old jaunt before making the move up north. Brad began with SANFL in 2014, breaking into the Senior Panel in 2017, being awarded SANFL's Most Improved Goal Umpire in the same year. Running with Michael Button for the 18th occasion in Mens League on Saturday, Brad has now officiated with 242 different umpires across all disciplines, all grades.
Brothers! Matthew Morrell, younger brother to Alex officiated in his first SANFL match outside of the Under 14's, running in the Bays Eagles SANFLW Development League last Friday.
📚 FACTS & FIGURES
Martin Elsegood brought up the half century - 50 Boundary Umpires run with in Mens League, his first run with Nathan Becker in the South Centrals match on Saturday.
Michael Button officiated in the Goals for the 7th occasion in South vs. Centrals Mens League match (most).
Sam Royans umpired for the 39th time with Matthew Zacher on the Boundary (most).
The Two Zeds - Matt Zacher has umpired the opening 3 Mens League games of the season with Zac Packard in the Field.
Paul Ventura has now officiated with 150 umpires across all disciplines, all grades since joining in 2021.
We see big number every now and then. Two of our most experienced Umpires in Corey Bowen and Matthew Cummins ran together for the 66th time in Mens League games (most).
Harrison Hughes umpired his 10th Mens League Woodville Oval game on Sunday in the Eagles Port match.
Damian Robinson has run most of his League games at Woodville, his 34th SANFL match overall grades was on Sunday in the Eagles Port League match.
James & James - Sutton & Haskard umpired a game together for the first time on Sunday at Woodville, and for "Sutts" it was the 150th person he has umpired with across all disciplines, all grades.
